Update on Tier 2 restrictions and how it will impact on the club
The government has placed Bournemouth in tier 2 which only allows pubs and bars to open inside to people within the same household or support bubble. Under Tier 1 the rule of 6 applied to groups indoor. Under tier 2 the rule of 6 still applies but only outdoor and still people would have to be seated and would have to have a substantial meal. New rules came from Downing street on Friday saying that as soon as the group had finished their food they would have to leave.
Unfortunately we have had to come to the decision that until Bournemouth returns to Tier 1, the club cannot open. We are not a restaurant we are a SOCIAL club. Whereas this is sad news for all to hear, we cannot operate under these restrictions and, if we wish to keep the club going, the short term loss will be paid back by us reopening when returning to Tier 1 or when the whole tier system is withdrawn
Whereas many venues cannot guarantee their reopening when this pandemic is over, by taking these steps now, we can guarantee that the club will reopen bigger and better than ever before. Although we have been in lockdown, we have been hard at it to make the club a better place when we do eventually reopen
We have a new heating system installed in all three rooms to make sure the warm and cosy (something it hasn’t always been on a cold Winter’s day!)
A new food menu with a full range of offerings, plus a comprehensive Vegan menu for those of you thinking of taking the step!
A newly themed games room with table football, pool and bar games
A new sound system throughout the venue which allows us to have music on in all three rooms
Additional TV’s in the Butler suite which will allow us to have sport showing in all three rooms
Please bear with us during these difficult times. One small crumb of comfort is that Sport is allowed to return and we will have the catering van open for those games so come down and say hello!
